Amir Shahkarami Joins EPM Board of Directors

Amir Shahkarami has joined the Board of Directors of EPM. Amir has over 35 years of experience in the nuclear industry including 13 years with Exelon. He retired from Exelon in 2014 as CEO of Exelon Nuclear Partners. Previous to that he was Senior VP of Engineering & Technical Services and Site VP for Braidwood Nuclear Station. Prior to Exelon, Amir worked at Entergy, Detroit Edison, Sargent & Lundy, and Brown & Root. Amir has led some of the key industry initiatives as Executive Chairman of both the BWR & PWR Owners Groups. He also served as Chairman of the Nuclear Industry Summit Working Group on Cyber Security. Amir is the founder, President, and CEO of CASe Global Partners, Inc. which provides complex financial and technical mathematical modeling, computer analysis, and consultation in energy and engineering as well as providing consultation and mentoring of international executives.

In addition to having over 35 years of expertise in the areas of safe shutdown systems analysis and fire protection, EPM also offers the PRA expertise needed by typical nuclear utilities, using EPRI's R&R software suite. EPM PRA personnel have led and participated in the development of multiple internal events, flood, fire, and external events PRAs, and have been active participants in several industry groups, including both PWR and BWR Owners Groups, NEI, and EPRI.
The Next Generation of Nuclear Power

The two new projects has been undertaken by EPM's Systems and Safety Analysis Division to support the certification of new reactor designs. These projects involve supporting the certification of NuScale Small Modular Reactor (SMR) design and the Korean Electrical Power Corporation (KEPCO) APR1400 design.
CAMP: A Cable Aging Management Solution

The Software and Technology Solutions team at EPM has developed Cable Aging Management Program (CAMP) for tracking cable degradation. CAMP was developed with the challenges of nuclear plants in mind. CAMP provides wide range of tools and can be configured in a variety of ways.
