Ms. Janet Persechino has over 20 years of experience in the chemical processing industry (CPI). Her main focus has been risk assessment and loss prevention for chemical manufacturing from the perspective of property and casualty insurance. This experience includes design and testing of explosion mitigation systems and various types of fire protection systems for chemical manufacturing processes. Her work has included development, implementation, and evaluation/audits of all elements of the OSHA-mandated Process Safety Management 29 CFR 1910.119 programs.
Ms. Persechino’s experience also extends to evaluations of occupational safety programs, consequence analysis/vapor cloud explosion analysis, business continuity planning, construction project evaluation for fire and natural hazard loss prevention and chemical system process control. She has extensive experience in combustible dust hazard analysis and explosion mitigation methods.
Ms. Persechino has worked extensively in the field at chemical manufacturing facilities, and with stakeholders at all levels of her client’s organizations. Her understanding of the hazards, the engineered systems, and the challenges they present to the CPI, along with the knowledge of insurance company requests and regulatory requirements, allows her to find an adequate balance of ideal loss mitigation recommendations and techniques for this complex industry.
Ms. Persechino has a BS in Chemical Engineering and is an active member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Society of Safety Professionals. She is also a member of the Technical Steering Committee for the Center for Chemical Process Safety.
